About the company
German Steel Contracting LLC, a structural steel design, fabrication and erection company headquartered in Ajman, is looking for a Senior Structural Steel Design Engineer with at least 10 years of experience. The engineer will design steel members and connections and work closely with detailing, BIM, fabrication and other disciplines to deliver practical, buildable steel structures.
Key responsibilities
- Work with structural, architectural, MEP and other disciplines to set a feasible, efficient and buildable structural system.
- Analyse and design steel members and connections to international standards and project specifications.
- Review structural requirements, design criteria, loading conditions and specifications.
- Coordinate with designers, detailers, BIM teams, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Keep the analysis model, design calculations, Tekla model and shop drawings consistent with each other.
- Resolve design, detailing and coordination issues with practical solutions.
- Prepare structural calculations, design reports, technical submissions and engineering packages.
- Make sure work meets design codes, specifications, authority rules, quality standards and HSE requirements.
Qualifications & requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 10+ years in structural steel design, ideally with a steel fabrication factory or contracting company.
- Strong knowledge of steel design, connection design, fabrication, detailing and erection practice.
- Good working skills in SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro and IDEA StatiCa.
- Able to read, review and coordinate structural, architectural, MEP and fabrication drawings.
- Able to work independently on steel design while coordinating with detailing, BIM and fabrication teams.

- Candidates must be fluent in English.
- UAE based candidates are preferred.
- Immediate joiners are highly preferred.
- Candidates must be available in the UAE / Locally and able to join immediately.
